Operated by the collaborative efforts of CESNET, CERIT-SC, and IT4Innovations, e-INFRA CZ provides researchers and institutions with access to cutting-edge computing capacity, storage, and network connectivity. Our mission is to deliver reliable and efficient technical support, enabling you to focus on your research endeavors in natural sciences, engineering, humanities, and beyond.
Through this newsletter, we aim to keep you informed about the latest developments, services, and opportunities offered by e-INFRA CZ. The main topic of the visit was cutting-edge research infrastructure in the fields of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies, and its importance for the Czech Republic’s global competitiveness.
|

Users of computing services had the opportunity to express their satisfaction with the services provided. Take a look at the most interesting findings.

One of the selected projects is the LUMI AI Factory, which is built on the LUMI consortium and operates Europe’s most powerful supercomputer. The Czech Republic is involved via IT4Innovations.

We have launched the e-INFRA CZ blog, where you can find the latest information about new projects in the field of high-performance computing, data storage and innovative scientific applications. It also includes inspirational stories of successful use of our infrastructure.

The international conference was held on May 21–22 in Brno. Main topics included research data management, research infrastructure, AI usage, and international collaboration. Particularly resonant was the discussion on how to prepare data for AI while adhering to FAIR principles.

Newly deployed HPC clusters (4,500 CPU cores) and 2 PB of storage across Czech research institutions now significantly strengthen computational support for the ELIXIR life science community. Fully integrated into CESNET’s MetaCentrum.

Take advantage of cloud infrastructure with GPU-accelerated computing support, designed to meet high-level data protection requirements. Our new WebUI platform provides secure on-premise access to advanced language models for chat, coding, document work, and image generation, all in multiple languages, including Czech. Unlike commercial tools, everything runs within the secure e-INFRA CZ infrastructure, keeping your data in the trusted national research environment.

|
We introduce the updated usegalaxy.cz portal, developed by the MetaCentrum team, now offering a fully integrated experience with the global Galaxy platform. Researchers in bioinformatics, genomics, and other data-intensive fields can benefit from a user-friendly interface for creating and running analytical workflows—no programming required.

In Brno and Ostrava, we will dive into the world of citizen science. Visit us at the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University in Brno or join the interactive challenge at IT4Innovations, VSB-TUO in Ostrava, and discover why citizen science is a true treasure for research and society.

The seminar will focus on data processing, analysis, and storage, as well as on presenting new developments in the grid, cloud, and Kubernetes environments of MetaCentrum and CERIT-SC.

The Czech Linux conference, held every year on the first weekend of October in Prague, offers lectures, workshops, community stands, and plenty of new ideas. Admission is free.

This course on the basics of Quantum Machine Learning (QML) explores the intersection of quantum computing and machine learning, highlighting their unique advantages and applications.

Thu 30 – Fri 31 Oct
Participants will learn more about IT4Innovations future upgrade plans, hear talks from some of our prominent users, and engage in discussions during the Users’ Council meeting and the poster session.
|
|
Tue 2 – Wed 3 Dec
The conference will also feature a competitive poster session, evaluated across three categories. An expert jury will select a winner for each category and an overall winner, who will be awarded prizes. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 October 2025.
